Your Team Responsibilities:

  • MSCI Index Data Operations team provides high quality and differentiated equity data for construction of MSCI's products such as Equity Indexes, Risk Models and ESG Ratings.
  • The Float & Index Eligibility Analyst will play a key role by frequently reviewing asset screening data such as index eligibility, free float, and liquidity.
  • Additionally, the role involves contributing to data methodology enhancements and addressing external client inquiries across multiple markets.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of index eligibility screening methodologies and the data quality rules applied in index construction.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on data managed by the team.
  • Perform regular quality assessments of data, ensuring accuracy in line with product and index review schedules.
  • Independently handle data quality analysis presentations to various Data and Index committees, regularly contributing to methodology improvements.
  • Leverage approved AI tools to support anomalies detection.
  • Use AI-assisted analysis and checks where appropriate, with full human oversight.
  • Manage client queries related to index eligibility screening data, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and applications used by the Float and Index Eligibility team.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to index eligibility screening, ensuring that processes are streamlined and efficient.
  • Build expertise in assigned regional market as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

  • Ability to effectively work with diverse cultures in a global team; sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural norms/styles, flexible in working hours.
  • Comfortable using AI-enabled tools to support analysis, research, and process efficiency, with an understanding of appropriate controls and validation.
  • Attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with good logical aptitude.
  • Strong and effective communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Commitment to excellence and quality management/control.
  • Intellectual curiosity towards financial data and technologies.

Experience:

  • 4+ years in financial services, capital markets, or data operations.
  • Proven experience in equity data management, index operations, or related domains.
  • Proficiency in Excel with the ability to manage and analyse large data sets effectively.
  • Foundational knowledge of programming and data technologies such as Python, SQL, and Power BI, with the ability to apply them in data processing, automation, and visualisation.

Desired qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Economics or Mathematics (Including equivalents of CA, CFA, FRM, MMS, MBA).
