This position will support the ESG Issuer Communications team, which is the primary point of contact for all issuers under MSCI ESG coverage. The role involves engaging with issuers to facilitate them in understanding MSCI ESG assessment of their company, addressing their questions and providing oversight of all operations associated with incorporating issuer feedback by our analyst teams across the MSCI ESG Product suite. It also includes organizing calls to walk issuers through our processes and methodologies. We are seeking a highly organized individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, is well‑versed in ESG concepts and analysis, and has strong communication skills and is comfortable interacting with a wide array of external and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Allocate queries to the team and respond to daily inquiries from issuers regarding MSCI ESG processes and reports.
- Assist senior team members in resolving complex issuer queries.
- Organize and lead calls with issuers to explain methodologies, address assessment‑related questions, and coordinate with analyst teams when deeper discussions are required.
- Ensure issuer engagement workflows and communication practices align with evolving ESMA, JFSA, and other global ESG regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with product, methodology, compliance, and regulatory affairs teams to interpret regional and global ESG regulations and integrate required updates into ESG processes.
- Own ad‑hoc projects and proactive outreach initiatives based on new requirements from product, ESG, or regulatory teams.
- Keep abreast of dynamic changes in ESG products, internal processes, and global regulatory expectations.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and issuer resource documents.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal teams to gather statistics, identify efficiencies, and support continuous process improvement.
- Contribute to enhancements of the issuer online portal and partner with technology teams to resolve issues across internal and external platforms.
- Support team training and change‑management efforts by documenting and communicating updates driven by ESMA, JFSA, and other emerging ESG regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration / Finance / Sustainability / Environment.
- 1‑3 years’ experience in Client Service/ ESG/ Sustainability role.
- Experience in ESG analysis or sustainability will be preferred.
- Ability to learn complex concepts/processes quickly.
- Project management skills – defining scope, resources and timelines, and managing deliverables.
- Strong communication skills; can communicate with professionalism, diplomacy and tact.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a global, cross‑functional team; a strong team player.
- Strong computer skills with office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ownership over his/her work and/or assigned subject.
