Based in Ipswich but working for Global HQ within the Fleet, Network, and Terminal Efficiency (FNTE) department, you will be responsible for supporting FNTE projects by assisting with data quality analysis, application testing, reporting, documentation, and general project support. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and reliable data, working closely with I.T. to investigate root causes of issues and drive long-term improvements. The analyst will work directly as part of the wider FNTE project team and requires a hands-on approach, supporting business operations with data validation, ad-hoc analysis, and process improvements.
Skills and experience you’ll bring to us:
- Data Analysis & Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with keen eye for detail and a process improvement mindset. Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables / Power Query / basic VBA).
- Power BI: Experience creating front-end reports and performing ad-hoc data analysis using Power BI’s ETL features.
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with IT and business teams to ensure data quality and effective application use.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Shipping Industry Knowledge: Ideally 2+ years of experience in the shipping or logistics industry, with an understanding of related business processes.

- Analyse data from multiple sources for accuracy and consistency, identifying data quality issues and anomalies.
- Work closely with business teams and IT to investigate root causes of data issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor data quality indicators and proactively resolve issues.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting support as required.
- Assist with testing and validating business applications to ensure correct functionality and data accuracy.
- Support project updates, presentations and stakeholder communications.
- Work with teams across the business to ensure smooth integration of changes and enhancements.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for projects, applications, reports, business processes, and data sources.
- Train users on effective use of tools, reports and applications.
- Gather and refine business requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with existing solutions and departmental priorities. Where necessary, challenge requests by assessing whether suitable solutions already exist or are planned elsewhere.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of reports, visualizations, and analyses to support decision-making using Power BI, Excel Pivot Tables, and Power Query.
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, validating needs and refining requests where necessary.
- Support business users by improving and refining reports based on feedback.
