We are excited to be hiring for an Automation & Rigging Manager to join our growing Show & Multimedia Technologies department in London. This is a key role responsible for overseeing all rigging, performer flying winches, stage machinery systems, and automation control systems across the fleet. You will support projects from initial design through installation and commissioning, ensuring systems are delivered to the highest operational and safety standards. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating service support for the existing fleet, including both planned maintenance and extraordinary interventions when required. A key responsibility of the role is to ensure that the safe operation and use of all rigging and automation systems remains the highest priority and is always fully compliant with applicable regulations, standards, and company policies.
Your Impact
- Maintains rigging, stage machinery, and automation equipment/systems across the fleet.
- Supervises the installation, integration, and testing of new equipment and technical facilities.
- Troubleshoots and resolves reported abnormal behaviour or technical issues related to the equipment.
- Defines and plans regular inspections and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer manuals and regulations.
- Coordinates and implements technical requests from productions and internal stakeholders.
- Communicates effectively with team members and colleagues across different departments.
- Provides technical support for all rigging, stage machinery, and automation systems.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure effective and reliable operational support.
- Assists, or arranges appropriate support, for show installations and commissioning activities.
- Maintains a strong understanding of MSC products, venues, and technical features.
- Demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
Your Journey so far
- Minimum five years of experience in automation, stage machinery or theatrical rigging systems.
- Strong understanding of MSC venues, products, and technical features related to entertainment systems (preferred).
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills combined with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Good command of English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
- Relevant technical education, training, or certifications in rigging, automation, stage machinery, or related disciplines.
- Availability and willingness to travel as required to support fleet operations and projects.
