Your Purpose

The main objective of this role is to guarantee that all Crew technical development meets both the needs of the Company and international requirements. You will be responsible for organising the training matrix and ensuring that the structure of the training given is fit for purpose (for the avoidance of doubt, this role will focus on training not including STWC Courses).

Your Impact

  • Liaises with various departments gathering their needs for the company courses (Nautical, Technical, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Energy Saving).
  • Liaises with various training centres regarding providing company courses.
  • Liaises with Manning offices to organise a sustainable activity calendar.
  • Guarantees a company training matrix in compliance with needs and regulations.
  • Liaising with the Fleet Operations Department, MSC Sorrento and Training Centres to organise and supervise Company training or any other training as required, including visits to ships to conduct onboard training.
  • Contacts external companies to arrange and organise training.
  • Liaises with HR in following up and improving Officers promotions and new hire process.
  • Cooperating in developing onboard eLearning Platform.

Your Journey so far

  • Experience sailing on Cruise Ships as Deck Officer.
  • Experience working in a maritime training environment (preferred).
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Computer literacy: windows-based programs and video editing software, experience using Power BI is an advantage.
  • In depth knowledge of maritime regulations specifically Solas, Marpol and STCW.
  • Strong Interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Forward planning, problem solving, decision-making and strategic thinking ability.
