We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing New Building Department as a BIM (Building Information Modeling) Expert. Reporting to the New Building Director - Project Management Office (PMO), the BIM Expert will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation and coordination of BIM across all entities involved in the newbuild process. This includes overseeing BIM workflows, ensuring model compliance with standards, and facilitating collaboration between teams to support the successful execution of newbuild projects. The role also includes supporting strategic design decisions using 3D and VR technologies to improve efficiency and alignment.

Your Impact

  • Manages the day-to-day operation and coordination of BIM data sets, workflows, and project setup.
  • Ensures models comply with BIM standards and project requirements.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration between stakeholders, architects, and engineers.
  • Develops and updates detailed 3D models based on newbuild design and construction specifications.
  • Provides guidance and support for the implementation of BIM tools and processes.
  • Identifies and resolves design and technical issues within the BIM model.
  • Performs clash detection and resolves modeling conflicts to avoid construction issues.
  • Establishes and maintains common methods and processes for BIM tools and standards across internal and external teams.
  • Generates construction documents and visualisations from BIM models to support project execution.
  • Supports strategic planning by providing insights from BIM models to inform executive-level decisions.

Your Journey so far

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in BIM management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the maritime or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with MicroStation is a plus.
  • Experience using real-time and VR rendering tools such as Twinmotion and Vray plug-ins.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering design processes.
  • Experience in managing complex BIM workflows and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in managing cost-effective BIM solutions and improving team efficiency.
