Responsibilities
The Service Centre Operative is a versatile, hands‑on role responsible for supporting all operational processes within the laundry service center.
The operative will be trained across multiple tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling, processing and dispatch of customer garments and textiles to the required standards.
Where applicable, operatives with a valid driving license may also be required to undertake deliveries and collections to and from customer sites.
- Prepare, check, and sort customer items before washing, ensuring accurate tagging and documentation in SAP to start the process.
- Operate washing and drying machinery safely and effectively, ensuring correct procedures, loads and program settings.
- Check cleaned garments for quality and presentation, identifying and recording any issues or defects in SAP.
- Accurately prepare and pack completed orders for delivery or collection, ensuring correct paperwork and labelling.
- Maintain precise and accurate records at each stage of the process, ensuring clear, consistent documentation.
- Operatives with a valid driving license may be required to carry out deliveries and collections using company vehicles.
This involves safely transporting clean and soiled garments, ensuring accurate handovers, and providing professional, courteous service to customers.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct handling of chemicals, equipment, and vehicles.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and organized to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Support colleagues and other departments as required, covering various tasks in line with business needs.
