Responsibilities
About the role To lead and coordinate the Service Team on site in order to achieve 7-Day Laundry and Repair turnaround and London Fire Brigade contractual agreements, including the auditing and replenishment of SRS lockers. To do this within the required Quality and Cost parameters and – above all – to ensure that this is completed in a safe working environment, with the highest standards of 6S and optimised associate skill and flexibility. The role will require exceptional leadership and dynamic resource-planning skills, in order to maximise productivity, keeping overtime costs within the budgeted amount. Communication skills at all levels of the organization need to exemplary, with a proven ability to engage people within their direct reporting structure and supporting their function. Problem solving skills will be used on an ongoing process to identify solutions and processes that continuously drive Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards. The Service Centre Supervisor will be expected to build high performing teams that are fully aware of and aligned to key business objectives. As such, there is a strong requirement on building team capability, active leadership and participation in Continuous Improvement activities, engagement in cross-functional and cross site initiatives and interactions, in addition to ensuring that agreed standards and processes are fully implemented and adhered to across the site.
Responsibilities
Delivery of Customer Contractual Agreements
- Effective allocation of resource to deliver the 7-Day Laundry and Repair turnaround andLondon Fire Brigade contractual agreements, on time and in full. Ensure that this is completedin line with the budgeted headcount and in a safe working environment.
- Effective and timely completion of Retirements, Exchanges and Condemning of garments.
- Effective control of absence, including holiday planning and absence management.
- To ensure that a fully serviced and roadworthy fleet of vehicles is available to facilitate meetingcontractual agreements for our customer base.
- Where Off-The-Runs occur, ensure that these are actioned in a timely, but safe, manner and to lead a full cross-functional Root Cause Analysis activity is conducted in order to identify and implement long term corrective actions
Development of Team Capability & Engagement
- Effective and ongoing training and development of the team to ensure the correct skillsets existto deliver the plan and are such that absence and holiday can be mitigated.
- To hire and retain associates for the Rainham Service Team (Service Operatives, DataInputters, Machinists, Drivers, Auditor and Warehouse Operatives).
- Ensure all associates are trained and working to approved SOPs.
- Training planned for the team to ensure that all associates are aware of relevant EHSrequirements e.g. Incident reporting, Near Hit raising, Manual Handling, correct use of PPEetc.
- Training and development to ensure all associates are aware of the MSA Operating Systemrequirements such as Daily Huddles, 6S, Gemba, basic Root Cause Analysis.
- Understand and deploy ways of working that effectively build engagement within the team.
Driving improved Quality
- To be fully aware of any external and internal customer issues, and ensure all relevant investigations and countermeasures are implemented in a timely basis.
- To ensure appropriate systems are in place to detect and measure all quality issues within the process.
Commitment to Ongoing Personal Development
- To recognise development needs and identify appropriate plans to ensure successful ongoing development.
Processing of Administrative tasks
- To ensure that the Payroll Team has the correct data in order to pay associates’ wages andexpenses, through the accurate and timely updating and submission of the Weekly Timesheetinformation and the matching of the drivers’ trackers to the Weekly Timesheets.
- To provide support to the associates when HR and IT queries are raised, through the timely raising and following-through to completion of Jira Tickets.

Experience (preferred)
- A working knowledge of Prima and Microsoft software
- Basic understanding of 6S principles
- Team Succession Planning
Education (required)
- Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent
Education (preferred)
- GCSE Level 4 or above (C+) in English and Mathematics
- ILM Level 5 (or equivalent)
- IOSH Managing Safely certification
