Responsibilities:
- The Service Centre Operative is a versatile, hands-on role responsible for supporting all operational processes within the laundry service centre.
- The operative will be trained across multiple tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling, processing and dispatch of customer garments and textiles to the required standards.
- Prepare, check, and sort customer items before washing, ensuring accurate tagging and documentation in SAP to start the process.
- Operate washing and drying machinery safely and effectively, ensuring correct procedures, loads and program settings.
- Check cleaned garments for quality and presentation, identifying and recording any issues or defects in SAP.
- Accurately prepare and pack completed orders for delivery or collection, ensuring correct paperwork and labelling.
- Maintain precise and accurate records at each stage of the process, ensuring clear, consistent documentation.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct handling of chemicals, equipment, and vehicles.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and organized to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Support colleagues and other departments as required, covering various tasks in line with business needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience required: Attention to detail / Accuracy, Decision Making, Correctly starting the paperwork trail, Manual Handling of laundry bags, Ability to work under pressure, Strong communication skills within peer group, Acts as a role model, Confident using a PC.
- Experience Preferred: Experience in similar environment, Experience with SAP.
- Education (required): O-Level or Equivalent.
