Job Description Summary

Job Description Key Responsibilities

  • Safely handle, sort, process, package and repack waste in accordance with approved procedures and written instructions.
  • Support waste retrieval, segregation, treatment and packaging activities.
  • Operate tools and equipment required for waste handling and processing activities, following appropriate training and authorisation.
  • Adhere to all site safety, radiological protection, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Wear and correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) as required.
  • Complete operational records, logbooks and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in pre-job briefings, toolbox talks and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas.
  • Identify and report hazards, near misses, faults and unsafe conditions.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve operational objectives while maintaining nuclear safety standards.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Ability to follow written instructions, procedures and safety documentation accurately.
  • Ability to work within a highly regulated environment and comply with strict safety standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental protection.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
  • Physically capable of undertaking operational activities and wearing PPE and RPE for extended periods where required.
