Job Description
Summary
The Transport product optimises our network of Transport assets including fleet and hubs across the UK, as well as ensuring our driver resource is utilised effectively and safely inline with industry compliance standards. It is critical to the replenishment of M&S products into our stores, ensuring availability of the products our customers are shopping for.
It also underpins our ecommerce fulfilment proposition, delighting our online customers whether they receive their products at home or collect in store. The team’s objectives are primarily around driving efficiencies, increasing throughput, and maximising customer order success rate. We are also laser focused on continually improving our internal processes, removing technical debt, and improving the overall health of our Tech products. As a Senior Product Manager you will be passionate about building products that customers love, managing the product management lifecycle from design and build through to launch and maintenance.

What you’ll do
- Product Vision and Strategic Leadership: Shape and communicate the product’s strategic vision with defined objectives and key results (OKRs), balancing customer needs, product health, and industry trends to drive business outcomes.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with cross-functional teams to align business, product, and technical priorities, set product direction, manage cross-product interactions, and drive launch readiness.
- User-Centric Product Development: Ensure a seamless user experience through thoughtful product design, leveraging lean practices like Minimum Viable Product (MVP), experimentation techniques, and user science tools.
- Product Ownership and Optimization: Manage the product backlog, prioritize tasks, and deliver measurable value, incorporating insights from market research, data analytics, and competitor analysis to maintain best-in-class capabilities.
- Mentorship and Culture Building: Act as a mentor to Associate/Product Managers, contributing to the broader product culture while advocating for the product internally and externally.
Who you are
- Product Management Expertise: Proven experience in product management, including developing and delivering strategies, roadmaps, and successful product launches, with strong financial acumen to demonstrate product value.
- Supply Chain and Logistics Knowledge: Passion and deep understanding of supply chain, logistics, and customer needs, coupled with broad knowledge of retail sector principles and processes.
- Agile Delivery and Collaboration: Experience leading product delivery in Agile environments, utilizing techniques such as backlog prioritization, discovery workshops, and engaging cross-functional teams collaboratively.
- Data-Driven Problem Solving: Skilled in assessing risks, using metrics (e.g., SLA performance, usage, and scalability) to evaluate product health, and crafting data-informed narratives for decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership: Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to drive customer-led outcomes.
