People, Process and Controls Governance Lead

Location: London

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid

Our Finance team plays a pivotal role in our evolving business, supporting financial and regulatory reporting, Finance Transformation, and Controls governance. This role assists the Head of Finance Operations, Transformation, and Controls Governance in establishing a controls framework over reporting and ensuring effective People and Process design for the Target Operating Model (TOM).

The role involves supporting the organisational design of the future Finance and Actuarial teams, ensuring process efficiency, risk management, and controls are integrated into the design. Collaboration with various teams, including Operations, Actuarial, Capital, and Investments, is essential to ensure a well-designed TOM. The candidate will work closely with the Transformation Systems and Data team to align process design with target systems and data considerations.

Responsibilities include defining and applying policies and governance, managing risks, SME support for controls design, and ensuring ongoing testing and reporting of the control environment. The role also involves working with internal and external stakeholders, including internal audit, Lloyd’s committees, and risk teams.

Key activities:

  1. Designing the Treasury operating model and supporting Investment Operations design.
  2. Overseeing new processes and controls, including Lloyd\’s reporting and committee management.
  3. Supporting organisational design and skills development for Finance and Actuarial teams.
  4. Managing control uplifts, data governance, and relationships with KPMG, risk, and internal audit.
  5. Supporting the setup of a controls office and risk management processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified accountant or actuary.
  • Experience in audit, risk, and finance processes, with transformation exposure.
  • Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and process optimization skills.
  • Technical proficiency in finance systems and technology.
