Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Pricing Actuaries, underwriters, product leads and underwriting management.
- Assist with the development and deployment of pricing models into pricing platforms.
- Ensure pricing models comply with the Technical Pricing Framework.
- Analyze internal and external data to build, test and validate technical pricing models.
- Support underwriters with actuarial and technical pricing matters, including case pricing, renewal monitoring, expected loss cost calculations and business planning day-to-day pricing supports.
- Challenge assumptions and decisions where appropriate, bringing an independent pricing view.
- Support Pricing Portfolio Reviews and provide insight into the quality and performance of risks written.
- Maintain and develop management information for analysis and reporting.
- Liaise with other teams, including Catastrophe Modelling, Reserving and Capital Modelling, ensuring consistency between pricing, risk and capital frameworks.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in pricing, ideally within commercial insurance, specialty lines or the London Market.
- Background as a Senior Pricing Analyst, Actuarial Pricing Analyst or similar.
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Progress towards actuarial qualification or equivalent actuarial/pricing experience.
- Minimum three or more years’ relevant pricing experience.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience using programming languages such as SQL, VBA or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and underwriters.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and commercial judgement.
