About The Job
We are looking for an experienced Operational Resilience Manager to manage the delivery of regulatory resilience within our mature framework. You will ensure our compliance with regulatory requirements, continually mature our resilience position and align to Lloyd's market practices to achieve MS Amlin's strategic ambitions. You will enable the wider team to manage and facilitate our response to major incidents. You will ensure that our Important Business Services are appropriately mapped, analysed and tested. The Operational and Cyber Resilience team ensure we understand, respond and proactively strengthen our ability to withstand severe disruptions as well as mitigating critical risk factors. This role is focussed on delivering our Resilience Self-Assessment Document, working collaboratively with stakeholders and partners.
What you'll spend your time doing:
- Run the process to monitor resilience of our Important Business Services (IBSs) and critical resources, including the development and monitoring of metrics across IBS and critical resources.
- Operate our Operational Resilience framework, Standards and practices, developing communications and training to support adoption, awareness and maturity within the business.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships and support them in ensuring we collectively adhere to regulatory requirements, this includes SMF24, Executive Management, Important Business Service (IBS) Owners, Critical Resource Owners and their teams, as well as business functions in Lines 1, 2 and 3, our service partners, market and regulatory bodies.
- Draft papers and inputs to support annual Board approvals of our IBSs and Ops Res artefacts in line with policy and following any trigger events.
- Manage the process to ensure Impact Tolerances remain appropriate, working with relevant owners and stakeholders to review, update, approve and embed in frameworks and business as usual (BAU) practices.
- Facilitate scenario tests across all IBSs including maintaining the catalogue of scenarios and incorporating findings into the Operational Resilience frameworks. Identify and deliver on synergies with other testing and risk assessment processes such as operational risk frameworks.
- Continually assess our resilience vulnerabilities. Identify and escalate any new vulnerabilities and prioritise remediation activities to close existing resilience gaps.
- Maintain our Self-Assessment Document, every six (6) months and on material change to ensure that our Senior Management Teams have an accurate and accessible assessment of our resilience position which also meets regulatory requirements.
- Support the approach to managing outsourcing risk and operational resilience requirements for our key service providers, dovetailing other relevant regulations with Operational Resilience. Work with our Contract Owners, Procurement and Vendor Management teams to oversee, strengthen and embed controls and oversight to mitigate risks.
- Ensure we maintain the right Operational Resilience Policy, Standards, processes, tools and controls for our business.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert and consultant to our business stakeholders.
- Plan scenario testing roadmap across the MS Amlin estate. Join up the exercising conducted across entities as part of our MS Amlin crisis framework, ensuring that MS Amlin can respond effectively.
- Monitor and create meaningful metrics to support the assessment of our capabilities and improvements.
- Draft Post Exercise reports consolidating lessons learned across many stakeholders, extracting key improvements and tracking them to resolution.
- Deputise for the Head of Operational & Cyber Resilience as required in MS Amlin forums, industry and market groups and with our service providers to advocate for Operational Resilience and identify potential impacts.
The Resilience Manager reports into the Head of Operational Resilience. This position has no direct reports but as part of the MS Amlin Operations function will work closely with the SMF24 - MS Amlin COO, IBS and Resource Owners, other senior stakeholders and with counterparts across Operations, Line 2, Line 3 and Service Providers, including our sister entities.

What you'll need:
For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:
- Recent experience in an FCA / PRA regulated environment. Lloyd's market experience would be an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience of Operational Resilience drivers and methodology.
- Experience in delivering a Resilience Self-Assessment Document, which is underpinned by concrete metrics and rationale.
- Good interpersonal, stakeholder and communication skills.
- Ability to construct succinct reports for senior managers while also tracking improvements in more detailed plans and processes.
