The IT Operations Business Manager will act as the strategic and operational bridge between Infrastructure Operations and senior business stakeholders. This role is responsible for delivering clear, data-driven reporting, managing business communications, and ensuring that operational initiatives are aligned with enterprise priorities. The role will also support the Head of Infrastructure Operations in driving visibility, governance, and performance across the IT Ops portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Reporting & Governance
- Develop and maintain robust reporting frameworks for operational performance, risk, and service delivery.
- Produce high-quality reports and dashboards for ExCo, EMC, Board, and Legal Entity Change Boards.
- Coordinate inputs from technical SMEs to ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and business-relevant.
- Track and communicate progress on key initiatives, including BAU and transformation programmes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Infrastructure Operations and business stakeholders.
- Translate technical updates into clear, executive-ready narratives.
- Represent Infrastructure Operations in cross-functional forums, including Customer Experience and Enterprise Architecture.
- Support the Head of Infrastructure Operations in preparing communications for internal and external audiences.
- Surface and prioritise IT Ops initiatives in collaboration with business leads and EA.
- Drive alignment of Infrastructure Roadmap with business needs and strategic goals.
- Monitor delivery of key workstreams, escalating risks and blockers as needed.
- Support the embedding of new operating models and governance frameworks.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in IT operations, service delivery, or infrastructure management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Demonstrable experience in reporting, data visualisation, and performance tracking.
- Familiarity with ITIL, service management tooling (e.g. ServiceNow), and governance processes.
- Ability to influence and coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience working within a regulated environment (e.g. insurance, financial services).
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies and service models.
- Exposure to operating model transformation or product-based delivery structures.
- Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Power BI or similar reporting tools
- ServiceNow (for reporting and service management)
- Kanban/Swimlane tools for work tracking
What Can You Expect From Us?

- Performance Related Discretionary Bonus
- Holiday: 28 days core annual leave, and you can buy up to 5 days
- Pension: A minimum 2% employee contribution plus 7% MS Amlin contribution (9%) up to a maximum of 5% employee contribution plus 13% MS Amlin contribution (18%)
- Private Medical: cover for yourself. Family members/dependants can be added
- Flex Fund: £1,000 (pro-rated based on start date) to spend on flexible benefits
- Life Assurance: 5x annualised base salary
