The Claims Specialist is responsible for the proactive handling of claims within authority for Professional and Financial lines classes, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved consistently for our clients and business as well as aligning to MS Amlin Values.
You will support the Claims Manager and provide consistent delivery of a TRUSTed, market-leading claims experience to clients, brokers and internal stakeholders in adherence with all MS Amlin policies, procedures, controls and our claims philosophy. This role provides an opportunity to develop specialist claims expertise across Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Directors' & Officers' Liability and Transactional Liability and contribute to business modernisation.
What you'll spend your time doing:
- Handle claims arising from Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Directors' & Officers' Liability and Transactional Liability lines of business (and arising from other classes where appropriate as per business requirements), from FNOL to settlement, with due consideration of subrogation/contribution where appropriate, to ensure consistent delivery of a market-leading claims service and proactive claims resolution.
- Developing skills to monitor claims to ensure early 'best estimate' reserves are in place, valid claims are settled promptly with a tight control of costs throughout the lifecycle.
- Developing towards all claims handling responsibilities and adherence to MS Amlin procedures, controls and Lloyd's/FCA/PRA/J-SOX regulatory requirements and individual performance results in green Claims KPIs.
- Participate in and promote a respectful culture of open communication, collaboration, dynamic claims adjustment and continuous improvement β sharing knowledge with team and colleagues β to foster consistent market-leading service and optimal working environment for all.
- Support Claims Manager in providing insight to clients and business to inform better business decisions and help clients prevent and mitigate losses.
- Support Claims Manager in their liaison with underwriters to create a compelling proposition to attract and retain desired business and provide support, as required, to our client partners.
- Build and develop relationships with peers, brokers and service providers in the market.
- Proactively support required claims team strategic objectives and participate in business modernisation to transform current claims proposition towards our vision for a TRUSTed, market-leading claims service proposition.
- Familiarisation with the requirements around delegated claims procedures and oversight and treat all service providers and experts as extension of our team.
- Assist Claims Manager in raising our profile in the market and proactively supporting our claims reputation.

What you'll need:
- Proven (2+ years') experience in handling London Market claims handling, including relationships with experts, brokers and co-insurers.
- Degree/CII or similar professional qualification (desirable) or willingness to work towards.
- Foundational understanding of key principles and practices of London Market.
- London Market Claims System (desirable) & Microsoft Office knowledge e.g. ECF, Excel.
- Willingness to travel and attend client events.
