People, Process and Controls Governance Lead

Work Pattern: Full Time and Hybrid

Our Finance team plays a key role in our evolving business, supporting financial and regulatory reporting, Finance Transformation, and Controls governance uplift. This role supports the Head of Finance Operations, Transformation, and Controls Governance in establishing a controls framework over reporting and ensuring effective and efficient People and Process design for the Target Operating Model (TOM).

The Finance Transformation team covers Systems and Data, People and Process, as well as Governance & Control. You will support the organizational design of the future state Finance and Actuarial teams, ensuring process design considers risk and controls, and works closely with the Transformation Systems and Data team to align process design with target systems and data considerations.

Your responsibilities include ensuring policy and governance are well-defined, risks are managed within processes, and controls are effectively tested and reported. You will be a key SME in designing controls, monitoring their effectiveness, and providing leadership with data on risk and controls environment to facilitate decision-making.

You will collaborate with all F&A teams, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Line 2 risk colleagues, and internal audit to ensure robust governance and control environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design the Treasury operating model with relevant stakeholders.
  2. Support the design of the Investment Operations function.
  3. Oversee new WDT processes and controls to ensure risk and controls assessment.
  4. Lead on operational handoffs between Claims and Operations, including SLAs.
  5. Review Lloyds committees for appropriate attendance and notifications.
  6. Manage Lloyd\’s reporting, including detailed reviews and ownership models.
  7. Assist in organizational design and TOM changes for Finance and Actuarial teams.
  8. Develop future skills framework for Finance and Actuarial with HR L&D.
  9. Oversee process design in change initiatives, ensuring R&C review.
  10. Coordinate Data Governance forums and manage relationships with KPMG, Risk, and Internal Audit.
  11. Ensure completion of Finance processes and control uplifts.
  12. Identify controls over Subscribe with Underwriting team.
  13. Support the setup of a controls office and strategic functions.

Policy and Governance

  • Develop and maintain finance policies, standards, and risk appetite statements.
  • Coordinate with L2/L3 reviews and audit plans.
  • Manage agenda for Finance Risk Committee or equivalent.

Risk and Controls Assurance

  • Design and test controls, maintain taxonomy, and monitor control effectiveness.
  • Review process libraries and ensure ownership of risks and controls.
  • Monitor emerging risks.

Issues and Incident Management

  • Oversee issues and incidents across Finance.

Risk in Charge (RiC)

  • Align RiC with broader Change team.
  • Support risk assessments during change programmes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified accountant or actuary.
  • Audit experience (internal or external).
  • Understanding of finance data and reporting requirements.
  • Risk experience in line 1 or line 2.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience in business process transformation and change delivery.
  • 10+ years post-qualification experience.
