About The Role

We are looking for an experienced lawyer with solid investment management legal experience, having a good understanding of key agreements such as IMAs, ISDAs etc and preferably a strong understanding of investment management related regulations.

This role sits within the combined Legal & Compliance function of MS Amlin Investment Management Limited (MS AIML), reporting to the General Counsel. This is a highly visible role that will involve collaborating with colleagues across the organisation and our senior leadership team & Board.

MS AIML is the regulated investment management company of the MS Amlin brand (MSA). MSA is wholly owned by the MS&AD Group. The investment clients of MS AIML include MSA companies and others in the wider MS&AD group.

What You\’ll Spend Your Time Doing

1. Analysing compliance matters, key regulations and regulatory changes (relating to MiFID II, FCA rules, UCITS framework), providing timely guidance to the business to ensure compliance at all times.
2. Reviewing & revising UCITs Prospectuses, KIIDs, Trust Deeds and other fund related documentation to ensure the delivery of strategic portfolio management changes.
3. Independent drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of investment related legal agreements such as IMAs, ISDAs, Custodian, Fee & Side Letters.
4. Coordinating and conducting in depth compliance due diligence exercises to effectively vet all new and review existing external investment managers.
5. Designing and implementing compliance monitoring practices to strengthen the firm\’s compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice as well as presenting reporting to committees and Boards.
6. Line Manager to two team members within the combined Legal & Compliance function and deputising for General Counsel where needed.

What We Need From You

1. At least 4 years legal and/or compliance experience in a FCA regulated investment manager.
2. Lawyer/solicitor with LLB or Graduate Diploma in Law, Legal Practice Course or SQE.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
5. Stakeholder & client relationship management experience
6. Excellent MS Office skills
