This UK-based supplier of electronic components and assemblies is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) to play a key role in supporting customers throughout the design cycle, from initial product recommendations to order receipt. This company offers an array of services including sourcing, importation, procurement outsourcing, and in-house assembly. This role serves as the crucial link between development, customers, and sales, ensuring technical solutions are effectively implemented. The TSE will analyse customer requirements, propose tailored system solutions, and provide ongoing technical support. Utilising existing products and concepts, the role focuses on delivering optimal solutions while maintaining strong customer relationships. Excellent technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities are essential to thrive in this customer-facing position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive solutions for ADM applications, including electronic and fiber optic connectors, cable, and interconnect systems.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Develop strong connections with key customers, supply partners, Business Development Managers (BDMs), and internal sales teams.
  • Assess customer needs, ask the right questions, identify solutions, and effectively advocate for them.
  • Create and deliver engaging presentations, product introductions, and technical sales training for the local sales team, with a focus on interconnect solutions
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager and BDMs to develop and implement demand-creation strategies using both internal and supplier resources.
  • Develop strategies to differentiate products and solutions from competitors, ensuring a competitive edge.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party contacts as needed.
  • Promote Active’s kitting and assembly services, highlighting their value to customers.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years design or applications engineering experience with Interconnect products and technology
  • Diverse experience with major Interconnect suppliers’ products and technologies
  • Understanding of the ADM industry market forces and dynamics
  • Effective communication, presentation, organizational and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and activities at one time
