They are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to join their growing team. Working closely with a small, enthusiastic group of inside and field sales colleagues, the successful candidate will spend most of their time visiting customers across West Midlands and the wider UK, including occasional travel to Ireland and Scotland. This field-based role offers the opportunity to build lasting client partnerships, promote leading electronic and industrial solutions, and gain valuable experience in international business and technical sales. Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long‑term customer relationships through regular on‑site visits and proactive communication; travel readiness of approximately 80% field‑based and 20% office/home‑based.
  • Visit existing and potential customers to identify new business opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
  • Develop and grow existing accounts, expanding market share and identifying opportunities for cross‑selling and upselling.
  • Enhance product and market knowledge to provide informed advice and tailored solutions to customers.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events, promoting products and services to prospective clients.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals in cooperation with internal sales and technical specialists.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including order placement, product availability checks, delivery follow‑up, and complaint resolution.
  • Deliver professional post‑quotation follow‑up, ensuring responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to commercial and marketing strategy, offering insights from customer interactions and market research.
  • Conduct market intelligence activities, identifying trends, competitors, and potential new opportunities.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable sales and marketing initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Report daily sales activities and outcomes, maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with inside sales and account management teams to deliver a seamless customer experience and achieve shared targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in sales, ideally within the electronics or industrial sector.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and a genuine interest in technology and innovation.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively — visiting customers approximately four days per week.
  • A proactive, “can‑do” attitude with strong initiative and a talent for identifying new opportunities.
  • Enthusiastic, confident, and persuasive communicator, able to build trust and engage customers effectively.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Naturally independent, self‑motivated, and organised, with a results‑driven mindset.
  • Technical background or understanding of electronic or electromechanical products.
  • Experience using ERP systems, particularly SAP.
