Role Overview – The Strategic Technical Enabler
This is a customer-facing Field Applications Engineer role for a technically credible specialist in relays and contactors. As the technical authority for a well-established power switching product line, you will work closely with OEM design teams, distributors, sales, and internal product groups to secure design wins, solve complex application challenges, and shape the future product roadmap. You’ll be instrumental in positioning the brand as a true subject-matter expert in power switching solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Engineering & Design-Win Ownership
- Analyse customer applications and translate requirements into robust relay and contactor-based solutions
- Support OEM design teams from concept through validation to design-win
- Challenge product and process specifications to achieve best-in-class performance
- Customer & Channel Engagement
- Act as the technical interface for direct customers and distributor networks
- Support sales and business development teams with deep application insight
- Deliver technical seminars and customer-facing presentations
- Product & Market Influence
- Monitor competitive and application trends to influence product lifecycle, NPI, and roadmap strategy
- Support the introduction of new products and the development of in-house manufacturing capability
- Quality, Compliance & Certification
- Own and manage CE, UL, VDE, and TUV approvals and ongoing certification requirements
- Liaise with external approval bodies and key manufacturing partners
- Knowledge Leadership
- Coach and upskill engineering and sales teams
- Promote a culture of reliable, repeatable, application-led engineering excellence
Requirements – Technical & Commercial Depth

- Commercial awareness within OEM / distributor ecosystems
- Background
- Engineering degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent high-level industry experience
- Demonstrable track record supporting relay/contactor solutions across multiple applications
- Comfortable working globally across time zones, with a willingness to travel
