Role Overview β Strategic Engineering Leadership
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for the Technical Services / Engineering function, spanning electronic, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
You will operate as the architectural authority, technical escalation point, and cultural leader for engineering, balancing innovation, NPI delivery, compliance, and scalability in a complex electronics environment. This role suits a hands-on engineering leader who can think commercially, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and partner closely with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Engineering & Technical Authority
- Oversee NPI handover to production, including build instructions and training
- Build, structure, and scale a high-performing multi-disciplinary engineering function
- Own skills matrices, succession planning, recruitment, and capability development
- Foster a culture of accountability, pace, quality, and continuous improvement
Project & Programme Delivery
- Lead multiple concurrent engineering projects with on-time, on-budget delivery
- Own feasibility studies, project scoping, cost estimation, and risk management
- Support bids, OSRs, and NRE estimations with strong commercial awareness
Process, Quality & Compliance
- Own engineering processes aligned to ISO 9001 BMS
- Maintain governance across IPR, documentation, risk, and quality frameworks
Core Engineering Background
- Senior engineering leadership experience within electronics, embedded systems, or complex hardware environments
- Proven delivery across electronic, electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines
- Strong NPI experience in regulated or quality-critical industries
- Deep understanding of electronic component selection, lifecycle, and obsolescence
Leadership & Commercial Acumen
- Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial outcomes
- Confident stakeholder management at the executive and customer level
- Executive-level influence in a scaling electronics organisation
- Ownership of engineering strategy, capability, and delivery
