Some roles are worth shouting about, and this is one of them. I’m currently working on a confidential search for a Head of Field Sales (UK & Ireland) with a specialist distributor that’s well-known in the right circles, franchise-focused, technically led, and genuinely respected across Aerospace, Defence, and Industrial markets. If you’ve built your career in electronic components, you’ll know exactly the type of business I mean.
This is a player-coach position, not a boardroom job. You’ll be leading a team of field sales reps across the UK and Ireland, but you won’t be doing it from behind a spreadsheet. You’ll be out with them, in front of customers, setting the standard.
Your focus areas:
- Build and lead a remote field sales team, providing coaching, accountability, and professional development.
- Own a premium franchise portfolio across Passives, Interconnect, Electromechanical, and Power.
- Drive growth across OEM and EMS customer bases, building relationships that actually last.
- Define the territory strategy and manage it end-to-end, including margin performance.
- Be the senior voice when it matters, stepping in on key accounts and supplier partnerships.
This one has a hard filter, and I make no apology for it. If your career hasn’t been built inside the world of electronic components, this isn’t the right move. But if it has, if you’ve grown up in franchised distribution, worked an OEM desk, or come through a CEM environment, then keep reading.
Specifically, we’re looking for:
- A solid background in electronic component distribution (franchised distributor, OEM, CEM, or closely related).
- Real fluency across product lines, Passives, Interconnect, Power, or Electromechanical.
- A track record in field sales and account development, ideally with some leadership experience behind you.
- The kind of commercial mindset that thinks in pipeline, margin, and long-term account equity, not just monthly numbers.
- Someone who’s energised by the field, this role needs presence across the UK and Ireland.
If you’ve been waiting for a role where your sector knowledge is genuinely valued, not just listed as a bullet point on the JD, this is probably it.
