This is an opportunity for a talented Design Engineer to take ownership of projects from initial concept through to production, working on new product development, customer-driven solutions, prototyping, testing, and continuous product improvement. You’ll play a key role in bringing innovative products to market, collaborating with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams while gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Produce 3D models, engineering drawings, product variations, and technical calculations from concept through to manufacturing release
  • Lead and support NPI projects, ensuring technical documentation is created, reviewed, and approved
  • Update and maintain product drawings to meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials, product structures, and engineering records
  • Participate in product testing, prototyping, qualification activities, and corrective action programmes
  • Review and verify technical drawings and specifications produced internally and externally
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Support engineering change control, revision management, and documentation processes
  • Assist with technical customer enquiries and provide engineering support for sales activities
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, and health & safety requirements

Requirements

  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent project management and communication abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced CAD experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar software
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, and review technical engineering drawings
  • Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product structures
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, metal stamping, and machining
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through production
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, testing, and quality standards
