We are looking for a dynamic and self-sufficient Business Development Manager (BDM) to join this dynamic, forward-thinking company to drive growth in the UK market. With a focus on microcontrollers (MCUs), embedded wireless technologies, and antennas, this hunter-style role demands proactive engagement with new customers, technical teams, and key manufacturing partners to develop long-term opportunity pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across key verticals, including IoT, industrial, and medical sectors.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and technical teams to ensure solutions are specified in customer design projects.
- Drive demand and awareness for microcontrollers, embedded wireless technologies, and antenna products.
- Partner actively with key franchised manufacturers to align strategies and maximise impact.
- Allocate approximately 50% of time to field-based activities—customer visits, industry events, and representing the company in market-facing engagements.
- Coordinate efforts with area sales managers, product managers, and technical business development teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities, advancing prospects from initial contact to successful closure.
Requirements
- Experience in a component and franchised distribution environment is preferred.
- Knowledge in IoT, industrial automation, medical devices and wireless embedded technologies is desirable.
- Solid technical knowledge of embedded processors, communication protocols, and wireless technologies.
- Demonstrated success in business development, with a hunter mindset and a strong track record of generating new opportunities.
- Skilled in engaging with design engineers to understand complex technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
