Full Description:
We’ve got an exciting position for a Sous Chef to be a crucial member in our newest restaurant based in Coggeshall. Featuring day time hours with just one or two evenings a month, you will be working alongside the team to help prepare breakfast and lunch dishes and preparing food for the day ahead. We serve up to 500 covers a day, so naturally we’re looking for a candidate who isn’t too flustered in a busy kitchen and can crack on and deliver great quality food.
We’ve been on the scene for 10 years now and have gone from a little tea room that held just 18 covers to being a staple in the Maldon community and seating up to 200 covers at any one time! We’ve since opened up new sites in Wickham Bishops & Coggeshall. We’re a family run, independent business but that doesn’t mean we’re inefficient or small by any means. We’re keen to offer training and courses where necessary, and there is potential for role growth as the business evolves.
What we would require from you:
- At least two years experience in a similar role
- Weekend availability
- Some degree of flexibility to cover holidays
- A great level of cleanliness and hygiene
- Able to drive to and from location – there are no public transport links to the site
Responsibilities:
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Supervise kitchen staff and manage team dynamics to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline food production and service.
- Utilise culinary skills to create menu items and assist in training new staff.
- Deputise for Head Chef in their absence.
