About Us

Mrs Salisbury’s is a welcoming café and dining destination known for quality food, great coffee, and warm hospitality. Our Wickham Bishops site is a busy, community-focused location where service and standards matter. We pride ourselves on creating a positive working environment with strong teamwork and a passion for delivering an excellent guest experience. We are entering an exciting new phase, with the introduction of a dinner service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, alongside a Sunday lunch service, expanding our offering and creating new opportunities for growth.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and hands‑on Assistant Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of our Wickham Bishops location on a temporary basis. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure high operational standards, exceptional customer service, and a positive team culture. This is a full‑time position based on a 40‑hour week, including weekends and evening shifts in line with our new dinner and Sunday lunch services. This position is available for an immediate start covering around 1 year of maternity leave. There may also be opportunities to move within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations
  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service
  • Supervise and motivate front‑of‑house team members
  • Assist with staff training, onboarding, and development
  • Manage shifts, rotas, and staffing levels
  • Support the launch and smooth running of the new dinner and Sunday lunch services
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are maintained
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control
  • Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues efficiently
  • Support in achieving sales targets and managing labour costs
  • Step up to run the site in the absence of the General Manager

Working days may be subject to change and holiday cover: Monday Day, Thursday Day, Friday Day, Saturday Evening, Sunday Day.
