About the role

Mrs. Alice is a fast growing homewares brand designing and curating seasonal collections of tablescapes, tableware and homeware. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Merchandiser to cover our Lighting and Home Decor categories to work alongside our Senior Merchandiser who is accountable for Tableware. The role will work closely with the whole business but particularly the Buying, Fulfilment and Ecommerce teams to maximize brand growth through dynamic management of stock and budgets across all product categories.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting, Forecasting & Strategy: Own the end-to-end WSSI (Weekly Stock Sales & Intake) and OTB framework for Homewares and Lighting, designing and optimizing historical reporting and forecasting models to maximize profitability. Partner strategically with the Buying team to deliver macro and micro-level forecasts, category insights, and territory performance metrics to inform and support their decision making on future range planning and option frameworks.
  • Trade & Repurchasing Strategy: Drive the commercial trade strategy, proactively analyzing full-collection performance to suggest weekly replenishment, markdown strategies, and promotional activities. Lead weekly trade meetings in Homewares and Lighting, presenting clear, data-driven repurchase recommendations and risk-mitigation strategies to the broader buying team.
  • Supplier Optimization & Sourcing Strategy: Co-pilot supplier relationship management with Buying, leveraging long-term forecasts to build joint business plans and help secure production capacity with key vendors. Conduct rigorous commercial reviews of supplier terms, lead times, and margins, proactively identifying levers to optimize working capital and improve gross margin return on investment.
  • Stock Management & Inventory Control: Define and streamline the product lifecycle workflow across Buying, Ecommerce, and Merchandising to guarantee seamless, accurate, and timely product launches on backend systems. Act as the primary operational liaison for external finance and accounting partners, ensuring rigorous reconciliation of supplier invoices, landed costs, and balance sheet stock valuations.
  • Merchandising Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale the Merchandising function in Homeware and Lighting, taking direct accountability for the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of assistants, allocators, and planners. Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear KPIs, delegating ownership, and implementing best-in-class merchandising practices across the team.

Must have experience in a high growth direct to consumer business. Home category experience preferred. Proven track record and recent comparable experience in mid or senior level merchandising roles for 4+ years. Excellent technical knowledge of and experience implementing merchandising systems and processes. Advanced excel/google sheet skills and confidence working with large data sets, and a variety of reporting tools. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving dynamic retail environment. Confidence to engage with design & buying team to influence buying decisions. Strong commercial, analytical and problem solving skills. Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
