MRR Infrastructure is delighted to be supporting a rapidly growing engineering contractor operating within the UK power and infrastructure sector. Following the successful award of major HV cable installation projects, our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their expanding team and play a key role in delivering large-scale infrastructure schemes across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of growth, offering the chance to influence project delivery, support future expansion and become an integral part of a developing high-voltage division.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of HV cable installation projects from inception through to completion. The role will involve a combination of office-based, home-based and site-based working, depending on project requirements. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full project lifecycle from mobilisation through to completion.
- Coordinating project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
- Managing client relationships and project reporting.
- Supporting commercial performance and cost control.
- Developing construction methodologies and delivery strategies.
- Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements and health and safety legislation.
About You
We are keen to speak with Project Managers who have experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects within the power, utilities or major infrastructure sectors. Candidates may come from backgrounds including:
- HV cable installation projects, particularly within transmission networks.
- Transmission and Distribution (T&D) infrastructure schemes.
- HV cable tunnelling and trenchless installation projects.
- National Grid, DNO or major utility transmission projects.
- Large-scale power infrastructure and energy network developments.
- Complex multidisciplinary engineering projects involving both civil and electrical works.
Ideally, you will possess:
- Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
- Excellent planning and programme management abilities.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Commercial awareness and budget management experience.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
Experience within high-voltage cable projects would be particularly advantageous.
