Workday Consultant required to join a major enterprise client on a long-term engagement, supporting the ongoing operation, enhancement and optimisation of the Workday platform.

This is a fully on-site role, requiring candidates to work 5 days per week from either Manchester or Inverness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver Workday enhancements, configuration and implementation activities.
  • Configure, test, validate and document Workday solutions in line with business requirements.
  • Work closely with business, HR, IT and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Lead workshops, requirement-gathering sessions and solution discussions.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide expert Workday guidance.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday issues.
  • Manage incidents, service requests and change requests through Service Now.
  • Support the ongoing optimisation and continuous improvement of the Workday platform.
  • Ensure Workday solutions are thoroughly tested and validated prior to deployment.
  • Produce and maintain appropriate technical and functional documentation.
  • Deliver training, knowledge transfer and support to business and technical teams.
  • Mentor and support junior Workday consultants, helping to develop their technical capabilities.
  • Support P1/P2 incidents as part of a shared on-call rota, where required.
  • Contribute to effective service management, governance and operational processes.

About You

The ideal candidate will have

  • Strong experience across Workday Core HCMis essential.
  • Mandatory Workday Core HCM certification.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday configuration and administration.
  • Proven experience delivering Workday enhancements and/or implementation projects.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, HR systems and enterprise HR technology.
  • Experience working with business and technical stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with IT service management processes, ideally including Service Now.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and support junior Workday consultants.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota for P1/P2 incidents where required.
