Content Designer required to support a major Government Gateway programme, working across key teams including SCP, EACD/RATE and Fraud Prevention Centre.
This is a hybrid role based in the West Midlands, with competitive rates, and requires candidates to hold active SC clearance.
You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, creating clear, accessible, and user-focused content while translating complex policy and government language into simple online experiences.
Key duties
- Create and edit clear, accessible digital content.
- Translate complex policy and government terminology into user-friendly language.
- Research and understand user needs through analytics, user research, and usability testing.
- Work collaboratively with User Researchers, Interaction Designers and Product Managers.
- Engage with policy teams and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy.
- Develop and maintain effective content structures and architecture.
- Use evidence and user insight to inform content decisions.
- Work iteratively within agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure content meets accessibility, inclusion, and usability standards.

- Strong experience as a Content Designer within complex digital environments.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Experience with content management and content architecture.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based design.
- Experience working in agile and iterative delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
