We are seeking a Senior Cloud / Systems Engineer to support mission‑critical UK Government infrastructure. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and supporting cloud‑native and hybrid platforms using AWS and container orchestration technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure on AWS (compute, storage, networking)
- Deploy and manage applications in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of systems
- Administer and optimise PostgreSQL databases (performance tuning, querying, maintenance)
- Troubleshoot complex system and application issues across cloud and container platforms
- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders on cloud architecture and system design
- Support and maintain secure, compliant government systems
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, etc.)
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (querying, optimisation, basic administration)
- Good understanding of cloud architecture principles (HA, scalability, networking)
- Experience supporting production‑critical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
