Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, MRK are exclusively working with this exciting international client who is looking for a qualified accountant to join them as Group Financial Controller working hybrid 2-3 days in the office.
This job would suit a qualified ACA, trained in a large Practice, who has moved into Industry within a Group head office role to be responsible for the Group finance function, internal and external reporting, Tax, Treasury, Company Secretarial, working with the Group Financial Planning Analyst and reporting to the CFO.
This role will suit either a progressive ACA looking for a career development move with a CFO who will assist this person to move on to a bigger role in 2-3 years or a talented Group specialist who is looking for an interesting role to fit round external commitments with an understanding CFO.
This international £200M turnover multi-sector group, employing over 1000 people, has grown both organically and through multiple acquisitions, including 10 since 2015, and continues to target new opportunities moving forward.
The CFO has a stellar career background having worked in businesses with cultures of career development and fast growth, so this is a great stepping stone for an individual wanting a near future move into a Group Financial Controller role in a FTSE 100 business.
The size and scope of the role offers the chance to experience a breadth of senior experience in a group that is high margin with a large corporate customer base with growth involving new markets, JVs, SPVs, partnerships, and acquisitions.
The successful individual will be a Practice qualified ACA who has Commercial experience, ideally in a consolidation type role (Group, EMEA, Europe, International etc.). You will have strong technical accounting skills and be commercially astute with excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to change and adapt quickly to changing environments when dealing with the Divisions in the Group.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy of group reporting, including application of relevant accounting standards
- Consolidation and oversight of business financial reporting (ERP to consolidation)
- Own and improve the group’s financial control and review processes
- Own the relationship with tax compliance advisors for Group
- Provide oversight and review of tax reporting and accounting entries prepared by the businesses
- Management of banking setup, mandates and partner bank requirements
- Co-own the relationship with credit facility lenders alongside the Group CFO
- Work with CEO, CFO and advisors to define, structure and implement organisational changes (new entities, partnerships, acquisitions/divestments and restructures)
