Job Purpose Responsible to the Business Delivery and Executive Support Manager for: Providing high-level executive and business administration support to the Director of Housing and Safer Communities, ensuring effective coordination of Directorate operations, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Managing key functions including executive correspondence, governance compliance, strategic diary and communications management, and casework oversight. The role requires professional judgment, political awareness, and the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders to support the strategic aims of the Directorate and the Council. Description of Duties * Manage the Director’s schedule and inbox, prioritising urgent and politically sensitive matters and aligning with strategic goals. * Respond to high volumes of complex correspondence from councillors, MPs, and senior officers, ensuring timely and accurate replies. * Prepare and quality-check briefings, reports, FOIs, and complaints, ensuring compliance with governance and statutory deadlines. * Coordinate and distribute meeting papers, take minutes, and manage documentation to support senior decision-making. * Analyse and present data for reports, dashboards, and enquiries to inform leadership decisions and track service performance. * Act as first point of contact for high-level stakeholders and support event coordination, ensuring professional engagement delivery. * Support and guide executive support officers, check work quality, approve absences, and deputise for the Business Support Manager. * Ensure secure handling of sensitive information, uphold data protection laws, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive workplace culture.
