Reid & Associates is partnering with a confidential acute care hospital to identify an experienced Interim Nurse Educator to support staff competency, education, and regulatory compliance during a transition period. This role focuses on stabilizing education programs, ensuring accreditation readiness, and supporting clinical staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate staff education programs aligned with regulatory requirements, quality initiatives, and organizational priorities.
  • Design and deliver educational offerings (courses, simulations, and programs) using adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Lead staff orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development programs.
  • Deliver education that supports and enhances clinical knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Maintain education and competency records in compliance with DHS, OSHPD, The Joint Commission (TJC), and Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) standards.
  • Develop and maintain education policies and procedures to support accreditation and compliance.
  • Serve as an educational resource for nursing staff and leadership.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support committees, special projects, and accreditation readiness as needed.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong clinical nursing background with current knowledge of patient safety practices, regulatory standards, and acute care operations.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, program implementation, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and Patients Bill of Rights.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an interim environment with minimal onboarding.

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nurse Educator in an acute care hospital.

Certifications

  • BLS Healthcare Instructor certification (may be required within a defined timeframe).
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (as required by client).
