We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP, Senior Associate General Counsel to lead the legal function across Europe, the Middle East, and other designated EMEA markets. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for providing practical, business-oriented legal counsel while building and developing a high-performing regional legal team. The ideal candidate is an accomplished legal leader with deep SaaS and technology industry experience, exceptional commercial contracting expertise, and a proven ability to partner with executive leadership. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, lead complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and business enablement. This individual will be a visible ambassador for the Company, representing the organisation to employees, clients, partners, regulators, and the wider legal community. The role is based in the United Kingdom and supports the Company's operations throughout EMEA and the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Direct and execute the legal strategy for the EMEA and Middle East regions, ensuring alignment with global business objectives on significant legal, regulatory, and commercial matters affecting the EMEA region.
    • Serve as a key member of the legal leadership team and an influential business partner to executive and regional leadership.
    • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop legal talent, fostering professional growth and career progression within the team, including direct management of the Associate General Counsel and other legal professionals.
    • Build a strong legal organization that balances legal risk management with commercial growth objectives.
    • Act as a visible leader and positive representative of the Company across the organisation and externally, driving collaboration, influence, and engagement at all levels whilst upholding the Company's values and reputation.
  • Commercial Contracting & Business Support
    • Guide the negotiation, drafting, and management of complex commercial agreements, including leading strategic contract negotiations, preparing and reviewing redlines, and advising on negotiation strategy.
    • Provide practical legal guidance to sales, customer success, procurement, product, HR, finance, and executive teams. Support strategic initiatives, new market expansion, partnerships, and revenue-generating transactions.
  • Employment, Privacy & Regulatory Matters
    • Advise business leaders on employment law issues across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.
    • Provide legal oversight and strategic direction regarding privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR compliance.
    • Partner with compliance, security, HR, and operational teams to address evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Litigation & Risk Management
    • Oversee disputes, litigation, employment claims, and pre-litigation matters.
    • Manage relationships with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Assess legal risk and develop practical mitigation strategies that support business objectives.

Qualifications Required

  • Qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent legal practitioner admitted to practice within the UK or another recognised common law jurisdiction, with current practising certificate or equivalent status.
  • 10+ years of progressive legal experience, including substantial in-house counsel experience within a SaaS, software, or technology company.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, directing, and developing legal teams.
  • Extensive commercial contracting experience, particularly involving SaaS and technology transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and EMEA employment law, privacy and data protection regulations, and litigation management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Middle East operations.
  • Experience leading regional or international legal teams.
  • Prior experience as Head of Legal, Associate General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or similar senior leadership role.
