Lead Strategy, Performance and Transformation Across a Critical Public Service

The Metropolitan Police Service is seeking an exceptional strategic leader to join its Property Services Directorate as Deputy Director of Strategic Business Operations. Reporting to the Director of Property Services, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the MPS Estate Strategy, driving organisational performance, and ensuring the Directorate has the governance, insight, financial stewardship and operational capability required to support policing across London. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic oversight of business planning, governance, financial and operational performance, commercial services, programme and financial management, data and insight, and digital transformation helping to ensure the Property Services Directorate delivers efficient, sustainable and customer-focused outcomes. Working closely with senior colleagues across the Metropolitan Police, MOPAC and external partners, you will translate strategic priorities into effective business plans and delivery frameworks, while driving continuous improvement, innovation and organisational performance across the Property Services Directorate. We are looking for an inclusive, collaborative and forward-thinking leader with significant experience operating at a senior level within a large, complex organisation. You will bring a proven track record of developing and implementing long-term strategies, investment programmes or transformation initiatives in a property/estates environment. Experience of leading business operations functions, including strategic planning, finance, governance, performance, programme delivery, risk management and organisational assurance is essential. Location: The PSD bases are Marlowe House (Sidcup) and Hendon but these roles will need to be across the estate and will spend time at New Scotland Yard. MPS offer hybrid working; therefore, you would be expected to be on site across the above-mentioned locations circa 3 days a week, based on the demands of the role.

Salary: The successful candidate will receive a basic salary in excess of Β£100,000. For candidates with exceptional and highly relevant knowledge, skills, and experience, in addition to base salary consideration may be given to a non-pensionable market allowance.

Security Clearance: Appointment is subject to the successful completion of Metropolitan Police Service vetting requirements.
