MRD Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading UK-wide parcel delivery and logistics provider to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to oversee high-volume warehouse and depot operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe running of a fast-paced parcel sorting and distribution facility. You will play a key part in driving operational performance, managing large teams, and ensuring strict delivery SLAs are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse and parcel sortation operations within a high-volume depot
  • Lead, manage, and develop a large operational workforce including supervisors and team leaders
  • Ensure all parcels are processed, sorted, and dispatched within strict timeframes
  • Monitor and improve operational KPIs including productivity, accuracy, and on-time performance
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse processes and workflows
  • Maintain compliance with health safety legislation and company policies
  • Manage staffing levels, shift planning, and resource allocation to meet demand peaks
  • Work closely with transport, network, and customer service teams to resolve operational issues
