This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Power Distribution Engineer to join a major industrial manufacturing site where you'll play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of critical High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical distribution and generation assets.
Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll contribute to major capital projects, asset improvement initiatives and long-term reliability strategies, while supporting the safe operation of one of Scotland's largest industrial facilities.
The Opportunity
As the Electrical Power Distribution Engineer, you'll provide specialist technical expertise across the site's electrical distribution network, ensuring assets remain safe, compliant and reliable. You'll work closely with operations, maintenance and project teams to improve asset performance and support the delivery of engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement asset care strategies for HV and LV electrical distribution and generation assets.
- Drive improvements in asset reliability, integrity and lifecycle performance.
- Provide technical support for electrical faults, root cause investigations and reliability improvements.
- Support electrical engineering projects from concept through to commissioning, including design reviews, procurement, installation and testing.
- Ensure compliance with electrical legislation, engineering standards and company procedures.
- Support planned shutdowns and turnaround activities by defining electrical work scopes.
- Manage critical spares and contribute to maintenance and budget planning.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and maintenance teams.
About You
We're looking to speak with experienced Electrical Engineers who have worked within heavy industrial, manufacturing, utilities, power generation or process environments.
You’ll ideally have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or be operating at Chartered Engineer level through significant industry experience.
- Strong experience with High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical distribution systems.
- A background in electrical asset management, reliability engineering and continuous improvement.
- Excellent fault‑finding and root cause analysis skills.
- A sound understanding of electrical legislation, engineering standards and safe systems of work.
- The ability to provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience up to 33kV.
- HV switching and electrical network operations.
- Electrical design experience, including protection coordination, cable sizing, earthing and lightning protection.
- Experience delivering electrical infrastructure or substation projects.
- Project management within a heavy industrial environment.
