About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading UK-wide parcel logistics provider, delivering millions of parcels annually through a network of strategically located distribution centres. Due to continued growth and operational expansion, they are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of one of their busy logistics facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven operational leader with experience in fast-paced logistics, parcel distribution, warehousing, or transport environments.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the site. You will lead a large operational team, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved while driving continuous improvement, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily site operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and service targets are achieved.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop operational teams, including supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse staff.
  • Ensure all parcels are processed, sorted, and dispatched within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including throughput, productivity, accuracy, and customer service metrics.
  • Manage labour planning, resource allocation, and staffing levels to meet operational demand.
  • Maintain full compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance and reduce costs.
  • Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Work collaboratively with transport, customer service, and senior management teams to ensure seamless network performance.
  • Prepare and present site performance reports to senior stakeholders.

About You

  • Proven experience in a Site Manager, Operations Manager, Distribution Manager, or similar leadership role within parcel logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of high-volume logistics environments and operational processes.
  • Demonstrable experience managing large teams and driving performance improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
  • Experience managing budgets, labour costs, and operational KPIs.
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice.
  • Flexible approach to working hours in line with operational requirements.
