We're seeking an experienced Risk Lawyer to join a dynamic Risk and Compliance team at a leading law firm. Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, you'll play a crucial role in protecting the firm's interests whilst supporting fee-earning teams. This is a varied and rewarding position spanning claims management, complaints handling, and regulatory liaison. You'll join a team with an outstanding reputation, working on high-quality matters with excellent support for continued professional development. The firm actively encourages involvement in responsible business activities, pro bono work, and community and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage internal notifications of potential claims or circumstances, reviewing matter files and liaising with fee earners and key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive schedules of live notifications and claims matters.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurers and external law firms regarding notified matters.
- Review formal complaints, analyse relevant files, and draft comprehensive responses on behalf of the firm.
- Ensure complaints are addressed within all required regulatory timescales.
- Liaise with the Legal Ombudsman and SRA as required.
- Support the Head of R&C with annual insurance policy renewals and management reporting.
- Assist with data subject access requests (DSARs) and related reviews.
