Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Manufacturing Manager role based in Sheffield. The Manufacturing Manager will oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing of Mr Whippy products. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling production, optimizing workflows, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with procurement, maintenance, and logistics teams. The role will monitor and maintain quality standards, ensure compliance with food safety regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment usage. The Manufacturing Manager will lead, train, and mentor production staff, handle staffing and shift planning, track performance metrics, and support new product introductions from trial runs through to full-scale production.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Production Planning and Production Management to organize schedules, resources, and staffing to meet demand.
- Proven experience in Manufacturing Operations and Operations Management to oversee end-to-end production processes and daily plant activities.
- Demonstrated capability in Quality Control to maintain product standards, support audits, and uphold food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading and developing manufacturing teams, with the ability to coach, motivate, and manage performance.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using KPIs and data to drive continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Relevant qualification in engineering, food technology, operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
