  • Supporting customers throughout the claims journey — from approval through to return to work, and sensitively handling declined claims where necessary
  • Liaising with medical professionals, financial advisers, and internal teams to gather and assess information
  • Building relationships with policyholders through regular contact, helping to deliver a smooth and positive claims experience
  • Arranging independent assessments, treatments, home visits and investigations where appropriate
  • Producing clear and professional correspondence to a range of stakeholders
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments and supporting continuous improvement of claims processes and service.

  • Ensuring all work aligns with FCA Consumer Duty principles and regulatory requirements
  • Identifying and escalating risks or potential compliance issues
  • Supporting fraud prevention by recognising and reporting suspicious activity
  • Adhering to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Insurance Fraud Register (IFR) and Bribery Act requirements
  • Accurately recording and maintaining evidence where financial crime is suspected

  • Knowledge of insurance products and claims processes (particularly Income Protection is beneficial)
  • Understanding of underwriting concepts and policy cover
  • Familiarity with the financial adviser marketplace
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Personal qualities:

  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Able to handle sensitive or challenging conversations
