Staff Power is thrilled to be recruiting on behalf of a respected, forward-thinking public sector company in York. We are looking for a personable, proactive Training and IT Support professional to join their growing IT team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves helping others, is confident delivering training at all levels, and wants to play a key role in driving positive change across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering tailored training sessions (1-to-1 and group) on IT systems, applications, and internal processes
  • Providing hands-on helpdesk support, resolving how-to queries and system issues
  • Supporting departments with process-related queries and helping them follow best practices
  • Assisting with new system rollouts and ensuring smooth user adoption
  • Creating clear, easy-to-follow user guides and documentation
  • Onboarding new starters with system and process training
  • Monitoring system usage to identify training needs and areas for improvement
  • Collaborating with IT, Compliance, and department heads to streamline and improve processes
  • Traveling to other offices when needed

Who We’re Looking For

  • IT background essential, though you don’t need to be super techy; you should be comfortable sitting on the helpdesk at times
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident engaging with colleagues at all levels
  • Experience delivering training or onboarding in a professional services or public sector setting (experience in the public sector is a bonus but not required!)
  • Strong understanding of business processes and a knack for spotting inefficiencies
  • Confident explaining systems and processes in a clear, user-friendly way
  • Good organisational skills, able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Confidence training staff across all levels and departments
  • A willingness to work across teams to review and improve processes
  • Happy to muck in and help out – it’s a small, supportive team!
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel between office locations
