Staff Power is recruiting on behalf of our client near Pickering for a Production Controller to manage production planning and ensure the smooth progression of work orders through their lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and play a key role in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Release job cards into production according to agreed schedules.
  • Manage changes to Work In Progress (WIP) from engineering revisions, ensuring correct processes and embodiments are followed.
  • Facilitate the smooth movement of products through production and stores departments.
  • Review shortages and expedite priority materials and activities to meet production requirements.
  • Assist with progress reporting on production.
  • Direct communication with project managers for dedicated projects.
  • Manage small projects or technical sales orders with support from the project team.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements as part of the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven competency in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within the team.
  • A keen understanding of time-critical responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUPs are advantageous).
  • Understanding of production processes (experience within an engineering business preferred).
  • Previous experience in MRP/Materials Requirements Planning.
