We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join a well-established food manufacturing operation based in the Durham area. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role working within a fast-paced production environment. You will be working across multiple areas of the production process, supporting the manufacturing of food products from raw ingredient stage through to finished goods.
The Role
- Weighing and preparing ingredients
- Mixing batches using industrial whisks and paddles
- Monitoring product consistency and quality
- Manual handling of materials (regular lifting up to 25 kg)
- Transferring product between production areas
- Assisting with small amounts of packing and labelling
- Ensuring strict hygiene and food safety standards are maintained at all times
- Cleaning down equipment and workstations in line with food production regulations
You will rotate across different areas of the production floor depending on daily production requirements, so flexibility and a proactive attitude are essential.
Requirements
- Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg safely and consistently
- Comfortable with repetitive and strenuous manual work
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow process instructions
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- A DBS check will be required for successful candidates
- Previous production or food manufacturing experience preferred
