MR PORTER is seeking a talented Assistant Merchandiser to join a dynamic team. This role plays a key part in driving the performance of one of the world’s leading online destinations for luxury menswear.

Location: Our Westfield office in Shepherd’s Bush

Reporting into: Merchandiser

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (4 days in‑office)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Merchandising team in delivering seasonal sales and profit targets in line with the business plan.
  • Partner with buying teams to build customer‑focused ranges and identify opportunities to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Analyse weekly performance and take action to optimise trading and drive profit growth.
  • Manage sales and intake forecasts through WSSI, overseeing continuity reporting for the department.
  • Work closely with the MAA team to ensure timely deliveries and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Represent the merchandiser in trading and planning meetings when required.
  • Communicate department priorities clearly and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment across the wider business.
  • Produce weekly reports and insightful analysis to monitor performance and help shape future trading strategies.
  • Support range planning and manage seasonal markdown activity to maximise margin while remaining competitive.
  • Coach and develop MAAs, providing ongoing feedback, training opportunities and performance reviews.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Relevant commercial experience in a fashion retail merchandising environment with an understanding of the luxury sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to develop a full understanding of the business, products and competitive market.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with internal and external teams and functions for personal and business development.
  • Excellent eye for detail, great organisational skills and high accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multi‑task.
  • Strong communication skills.
