The Editorial Executive manages a pipeline of content updates for Mr & Mrs Smith’s hotel pages, room descriptions and policies. There are opportunities to write mini destination guides, social-media captions and short pieces of creative copy, as workflow and experience allows. This junior role requires a high level of organisation, initiative and flexible thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise a queue of content updates requested by Smith hotels or internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver content updates using our CMS and Salesforce, reflecting Smith’s editorial house style and tone of voice.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Content Writer & Editor and Content Production Executive to keep the content update queue in order.
  • Collaborate with Hotels Support team, Images Team or directly with hotels to action and communicate status of queue requests.
  • Assist the UX team with copy updates and priorities.
  • Create and organise destination pages.
  • Work with the Social Team on copy requests across all social platforms.
  • Support with ad hoc copy requests, which may include writing collection descriptions or short pieces of creative copy.
  • Participate in Editorial, Creative, Social and wider team meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Natural self-starter with good initiative.
  • Confident in new technologies and digital systems. Experience in Salesforce, Asana, Slack and Looker not essential but beneficial.
  • Good writing skills and strong grasp of English language/vocabulary and grammar.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team player with the agility to support colleagues in a timely and flexible manner.
  • Strong communicator, able to keep colleagues up to date, relay issues or delegate tasks as required.
  • Some understanding of travel industry and confident grasp of geography.
  • Awareness of SEO, GEO and UX writing and processes.
  • Ability to travel into London for occasional working days.
