As a Territory Manager, reporting to our Head of Field Sales, you will have responsibility for selling Mr Fothergill’s product range to a wide section of outlets such as garden centres, hardware and DIY stores, pet and garden shops, farm shops and general stores while creating, building, and strengthening long-term relationships, and driving repeat sales and renewal revenue. You will be responsible for growing the customer base through personal prospecting within the region, emphasising relationship building and Mr Fothergill’s commitment to Customer First and quality of service before, during and after the sale.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Selling to, reviewing and servicing an existing account base of around 150-200 customers consisting of garden centres, hardware and DIY stores, looking for gaps and opportunities for business to grow market share within the existing customer base.
  • Focusing on merchandising opportunities, growing core ranges, ensuring product visibility to achieve sales objectives.
  • Building and maintaining excellent customer and key account relationships.

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of one year’s experience in sales or a customer-facing role, ideally within a horticultural setting, such as a garden centre, or consumer goods. Success in managing and growing existing accounts is essential.

The role requires regular regional travel, so a current UK driver’s license is essential. The world of gardening should be accessible to all and it’s important that our teams reflect the diversity of our customers, ensuring that our products meet everyone’s needs.
