Weâre looking for a SQL/BI Developer to join our IT team and take ownership of developing and maintaining critical applications and reporting systems. In this role, youâll work closely with key stakeholders to transform business needs into actionable insights using Microsoft Power BI while optimising our Sage X3 and Database systems. Beyond reporting, youâll have the opportunity to automate manual processes, boost efficiency, and help drive innovation across the business. Core Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain SQL solutions that align with business needs, ensuring systems run smoothly and efficiently.
- Work closely with key stakeholders and IT team members to gather requirements and craft powerful Microsoft Power BI reports that drive informed decision-making.
- Manage and maintain existing Power BI reports, ensuring they remain accurate, insightful, and up to date.
- Identify time-consuming manual tasks and develop smart automation solutions to boost efficiency and reduce errors.
- Support business users via the service desk, providing guidance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth system operations.
- Assist users with business system challenges, working alongside third-party support and internal IT teams to find fast, effective solutions.
- Develop high-quality, reusable SQL procedures, scripts, views, and databases, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Ensure all SQL developments follow best practices and company quality frameworks. Where no standard exists, help define and implement new ones.
- Create clear, well-documented SQL development solutions, making it easy for the team to maintain and expand upon.
- Provide hands-on support for business applications, working alongside IT colleagues to keep critical systems running smoothly.
- Develop insightful Power BI reports, translating business requirements into actionable data visualisations.
- Contribute to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Monitor and track project progress and adjust plans as required working with IT Team and keeping the Group Business Systems Manager updated.
We are looking for someone who has gained hands-on experience in SQL development, BI reporting and database administration within a manufacturing or commercial environment and displays a can-do, solutions-oriented approach. You will also demonstrate:
- Strong stakeholder engagement with proven ability to work with business users to effectively gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Strong experience in writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and performance tuning.
- Experience in Microsoft Power BI, and SQL servers.
- Practiced in supporting Sage X3, NetSuite, or other ERP systems.
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and project management skills with the ability to effectively communicate across the business.
- Demonstrates a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
